Cambridge Somerville Family Child Care

The Cambridge/Somerville Family Child Care Program is a full-time, full-year family child care system. Our licensed homes, located in Cambridge and Somerville, serve children ages 8 weeks to 5 years and are open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

Our family child care providers, who represent the cultural diversity of the community, are united by a love of children and a desire to partner with you to support your child’s growth and readiness for school. We believe young children learn best through a combination of play and planned activities with each other, with adults, and with their environment. Our family child care homes encourage active exploration of the world, while helping children grow in a safe, caring, and supportive environment.  

Our providers are recruited and screened by one of the agency’s professional education and/or social service staff. Ongoing consultation and professional development opportunities support providers in their work with your children. A majority of our homes are accredited by the National Association of Family Child Care Providers.
