The Catholic Charitable Bureau of the Archdiocese of Boston is seeking a full-Social Worker for the Teen Center program in Dorchester. The Social Worker is responsible for serving the social services needs of the Teen Center members and their families while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
The essential functions include; work collaboratively and cooperatively with staff while following regulations, policies and procedures of the Teen program and Agency.
Develop and provide case management, crisis intervention, and referrals for member teens, and their families for educational, medical and mental health programs as necessary;
Develop and implement a family engagement component to the Teen Center;
Supervise the Youth Development and Outreach Specialist and the Girls Program/Family Engagement Program Coordinator;
Provide home, school, and court visits as needed
Participate in legal proceedings as needed
Develop and maintain positive relationships with other community providers and other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Social Work or a Bachelors degree with experience working with community resources and familiarity with the community being served. Prior supervisory experience working in a community service program and demonstrated experience and ability to work with the social service needs of immigrant families, adults and adolescents are required. The ability to be self-directed and organized, along with attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential. The ideal candidate must be fluent in the language of the Cape Verdean Creole immigrant population. A valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required.
