We believe that children are continually learning through their contacts with people and the world around them. We design our programs to support and nurture children's curiosity and learning, enabling them to explore, experiment, and create their own understanding of themselves and the world they encounter.
Catholic Charities has more than 50 years of experience providing child care services to children and families of all faiths throughout Eastern Massachusetts. Child care services evolved from residences for orphaned Catholic children in the early 1900s to full-day, full-service daily education and care centers that now serve over 1,000 children in 9 child care centers and 100 family child care homes.
We offer comprehensive child day care and early education services, including infant and toddler care, pre-school and pre-kindergarten education, kindergarten, and after-school programs. Our programs are community-based, utilizing local resources for program enrichment and family services. All of our programs provide nourishing meals and snacks, age-appropriate curriculum, child assessment, and parent supports. Some programs also offer transportation, and some offer specialized services such as teen parent and special needs child care. We are committed to our teaching staff's longevity and support their professional development.
We operate two family child care systems that contract with more than 100 early childhood professionals who provide early education and care in their licensed homes. Many of these homes are accredited by the National Association of Family Child Care (NAFCC). Our systems contract only with experienced, licensed providers, supported by our staff of early childhood professionals as well as on-going professional development and training opportunities. Each home has a capacity of from 6 to 10 children.
