Adult Day Health

Through the Adult Day Health program at the Labouré Center in South Boston, both elders and disabled adults receive customized nursing care, eat nutritionally-balanced meals, and participate in recreational activities. The goal of the program is to enable the elderly to remain in their own homes, to enrich their quality of life, and to give respite to caregivers.

Many people can benefit from this program, including:

  • Families who worry about leaving an older person alone all day or who may need to give up employment in order to care for that person
  • Those whose health situation should be regularly monitored, including those with diabetes, high blood pressure, or complications caused by stroke or heart attack
  • Persons who need medication, supervision, or administration
  • Older adults who may not be eating properly or adequately on their own
  • Adults who enjoy daily activities, outings, and companionship

Participants attend between two and five days per week from approximately 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
