Organized in 1995, Catholic Charities’ Young Professionals group seeks to create a community of Boston area young professionals dedicated to helping children and families through community service projects and fundraising events in support of Catholic Charities and its mission – building a just and compassionate society rooted in the dignity of all people.
As various needs arise, the Young Professionals provide volunteers for one-day service projects that may include painting, repair work and gardening at various Catholic Charities service sites. We are also happy to connect young professionals to sustained long-term commitments, such as mentoring or friendly visiting programs.
Some of our fundraising events are "pub nights." The direct recipient of our funds is chosen by the event committee but is always focused on programs within Catholic Charities.

Volunteers Needed
As a part of the Catholic Charities Greater Boston, the Teen Center at St. Peter's serves youth 13-18 in Dorchester by giving both academic and social support. We serve mainly the Cape Verdean youth that live in the neighboring area, but all are welcome. Knowledge of Cape Verdean Creole or Portuguese is a plus, but by no means a requirement for volunteering. If you have any questions, please contact Paulo De Barros, the Teen Center coordinator, by calling 617-506-6600. Thank you for your help in serving the youth of Boston.
