In the Boston Globe: Cardinal O’Malley speaks of God’s love at Christmastime

"On Monday morning, [Cardinal] O’Malley helped distribute 4,000 Christmas gifts to children and families in need at the Catholic Charities Teen Center at St. Peter’s Parish in the Bowdoin-Geneva section of Dorchester. At that annual event, he appeared alongside the family of the late Thomas M. Menino, former mayor of Boston; Boston Police Commissioner William Gross; and representatives from Catholic Charities of Boston."

In the Boston Globe: Boston nonprofits distribute thousands of Thanksgiving meals to those in need

Volunteers wearing neon-yellow vests unloaded frozen Thanksgiving turkeys from a box truck parked on Columbia Road Saturday morning, stuffed them into reusable blue shopping bags, and carried them for people boarding buses and for others who came in cars.

The volunteers were working for Catholic Charities and United Way, which were among community groups and nonprofit organizations that supplied thousands of local families with fruits, vegetables — and turkeys — on Saturday.
