Catholic Charities Child Care is currently seeking a full-time Education Coordinator for our Program located in Malden. The Education Coordinator is principally responsible for coordinating all activities relating to curriculum development, implementation and evaluation, learning environments, and child assessment, as well as educational opportunities and training for home providers within the family child care system, or for teaching staff within the child care center.
The Education Coordinator will improve the quality of care in their homes, enabling them to advance from one level to the next. The Education Coordinator will assist Providers with their own educational advancements and coordinate all activities related to the children in the Family Child Care homes. The Educational Coordinator will also coordinate Professional Days, present workshops as indicated and consult with Providers regarding children with special needs, speech delays and cognitive issues.
The Education Coordinator will coordinate all activities related to curriculum implementation within the family child care system/child care center, including oversight of “Ages and Stages”/ “Creative Curriculum”
May manage and expand Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) grant funded activities.
Provide in-service training to family child care staff and home providers/child care center.
May represent family child care system/child care center on community committees and councils related to early education.
Monitor and assist with special education and Early Intervention referrals as needed.
May observe, document, and report to the supervisor areas of concern with providers/staff and children.
Monitor and support educational environment to maintain compliance with EEC, Catholic Charities, and other applicable standards and regulations.
Follow through with all agency directives and assigned tasks and projects in a professional and positive manner, respecting supervision and constructive criticism.
Model the CCAB mission statement to “respect the dignity of all people.”
Attend all required meetings and trainings, which may involve evening hours.
Will be expected to demonstrate a willingness to work cooperatively with colleagues.
Maintain a high standard of ethical conduct and professional responsibility, including confidentiality, to children, families, colleagues, the Agency and the community.
Have a plan for her/his own professional development (IPDP), staying current in the field by attendance at workshops and conferences, reading relevant literature, and/or taking or teaching courses, including 20 hours of professional development as required by EEC and documented
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education.
EEC Lead Teacher certified, and three years teaching experience. Coaching/mentoring adult learners and working in a family child care are essential.
A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is also required.
