Do you have an elderly neighbor who needs assistance when it snows?
Many clients who receive services at Catholic Charities Laboure Center are unable to leave their homes after a snowstorm, for fear of injury from falling on the ice or from shoveling. Being housebound often prevents them from getting to appointments, picking up prescriptions, or even getting groceries.
Snow Angels is an initiative created by the Catholic Charities Laboure Center which provides volunteers who will assist community members by shoveling their driveways, walkways and steps. Seniors enrolled in the Snow Angels program will also receive rock salt for days with no snow. With two volunteers to every square block in South Boston, Catholic Charities is endeavoring to ensure that everyone will keep themselves safe this seasons, while enjoying the wintry views.
