We are currently seeking a full-time Grant Writer to work primarily in the Laboure Center office located in South Boston, with the potential for hybrid or remote work part-time.
The Grant Writer will develop and assist in the creation and processing of grant proposals to private and corporate foundations, as well as federal, state, and local government entities on behalf of the agency’s service sites and clients. The Grant Writer will identify and pursue funding opportunities with an emphasis on planning for new programs and developing alternative funding sources for existing programs.
The Grant Writer will participate in research and special projects while working closely with colleagues in the Grants Department, Advancement, and Administration, and throughout the agency. This person will learn about the diverse range of programs and services and become a part of the future that supports the needs of clients and the community.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Sociology, English or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of proven success in grant writing, social service, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills are essential to the success of this role. Skillful knowledge of Internet research, Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, and Raisers Edge software is necessary.
- A driver’s license is required for local travel.
