We are currently seeking a part-time ESOL Level III Evening Teacher for the Laboure Adult Education program located in South Boston.

The Laboure Center Adult Education is a DESE funded intensive adult education program.  The program serves adult immigrant students of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds who prepare for successful studies in college or vocational training programs.

The ESOL Level III Teacher provides 15.5 total hours weekly (9 hours instruction time, 5 hours weekly prep time, 1.5 hours administrative). This position operates on a part-time basis for 33 weeks a year. Evening classes are held 5:30PM to 8:30PM, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Qualifications include:

  • A bachelor degree in education or related filed
  • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a similar environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of educational theory and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and compassionately in a culturally competent manner, with students of a wide variety of backgrounds, skill levels, race and ethnicity with varying level of English language skills
