In The Washington Post: An Op-Ed from Sister Norma Pimentel

Monday, July 6, 2020

Sister Norma Pimentel, executive director of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley, recently shared an op-ed in The Washington Post about her experiences in migrant camps at the US-Mexico border and responding to a recent COVID-19 case at the camp.

In the piece, she shares, "... the pandemic has made it more difficult to care for those who are arriving at the border each day. Since that lone COVID-19 case was identified, Mexico's National Immigration Institute has not allowed the camps to accept any new arrivals. So refugees are being turned away and have no place to go."
