Companions to the Aging
Companions to the Aging is the only program in Greater Lynn that provides free visitation service to the homebound to ease some of the loneliness many find themselves in as they age. Companions visit weekly and provide pastoral support to those who desire it regardless of faith. Contact the Lynn program to learn how to get involved at 781-593-2312.
The Elder Outreach Program provides social support, telephone reassurance, short-term supportive counseling, home visitation, assessments, outreach, education, and consultation free of charge. The program is offered to those living in Plymouth County and to those within South Boston's BHA-funded elderly housing. Grandparents As Parents (GAP)
The Grandparents as Parents (GAP) program reaches out to those raising a second family, often their grandchildren, during a time when they were expecting to experience retirement. There is a confidential help line with access to information and referrals, group support, and informational workshops and seminars. The program is based in Merrimack Valley - 978-452-1421.
Based at the Laboure Center in South Boston, the Grandparent Support Group offers support to grandparents who are raising their grandchildren in the Greater Boston area.
