When federal funding to refugee and immigrant services was abruptly cut in January, you stepped forward to help. As costs soared and our ability to source food from our partner organizations was disrupted, your generosity filled the gaps in our pantries and ensured that families could still feed their children.
'You Can't Go to Sleep When Your Stomach is Growling'
Nearly 2.9 million pounds of food, or approximately 2.4 million meals, were distributed to families in need across our four food pantries last year. The Boston Globe highlighted how food insecurity continues to grow as threatened cuts to federal food access programs coincide with surging demand at local food pantries.

Among Boston nonprofits, federal funding unknowns causing trepidation
Members of Catholic Charities leadership team made urgent appeals earlier this year at masses across the Archdiocese of Boston as federal funding cuts continue to impact the most vulnerable in our communities. “The situation is unprecedented…any amount makes a difference.”

'We Are All There For Each Other'
Ashley was only 18 years old when her mother passed away. “After my mom passed, things became difficult for my family,” she said. “We lost our sense of stability.” Just a year later, Ashley unexpectedly found out she was going to be a mother herself. Still grieving, this news was initially overwhelming. That all changed, however, when a friend introduced her to Catholic Charities Boston’s Healthy Families program in Lynn.
