McNeice Foundation
Catholic Charities Labouré Center is eternally grateful for the philanthropic legacy of John and Margarete McNeice. Their decades-long dedication to our mission was honored at this event in 2010. The McNeices’ commitment was integral to the capital campaign to build Labouré Center’s present home – 275 West Broadway – where vital services and programs have grown and flourished since 2002.
In 1997, John and Margarete established the McNeice Foundation to ensure continued support of organizations devoted to the Catholic faith, social justice and education. This legacy was entrusted to their daughters Gabriele Shaw, Margarete McNeice Portanova and a trusted Board of Directors. Margarete, Executive Director of the foundation, has said of her late parents “their work is continuing through us.”
Understanding that our communities are experiencing unprecedented mental health and substance use disorder crises, McNeice Foundation has granted $1million to Labouré Center’s Behavioral Health Clinic to expand services for families facing these painful challenges. Labouré Center is profoundly grateful and proud to honor McNeice Foundation this year.
