What kinds of services does Catholic Charities Boston provide throughout Eastern Massachusetts?
Catholic Charities Boston provides vital services to individuals and families across Eastern Massachusetts with our four major hubs operating out of Brockton, Lynn, Lowell, and Boston. As one of the largest social service agencies in Massachusetts, we offer a variety of volunteer opportunities in each community we serve.
Our work falls into four core service areas:
Four Core Service Areas
Each year, we help more than 120,000 community members access the resources they need to move from crisis to stability to self-sufficiency.
Our volunteer-supported programs in Basic Needs include food pantries in Brockton, Dorchester, Lowell, and Lynn; shelters in Boston and Somerville; and Elder Services in Brockton and South Boston.
Strong families create strong communities. We deliver an integrated system of programs to help parents and grandparents meet the challenges of an evolving world, and to help young adults and children thrive.
Our volunteer-supported programs in Family & Youth Services include Child Care Services in Dorchester and South Boston; Summer Programs and Camps in Dorchester and Hull; and After School Programs in Dorchester.
Upon arriving in Boston, we help individuals and families integrate into society and settle in their new home. We empower newcomers to build safe, stable, and independent lives.
Our volunteer-supported programs in Refugee & Immigrant Services include Immigrant Legal Services in South Boston.
Education is one of the most important steps toward gaining self-sufficiency and ending the cycle of poverty. Learning English, acquiring foundational knowledge, and accessing training helps people build a better future for themselves and their families.
Our volunteer-supported programs in Adult Education & Workforce Development include ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Classes in Boston, Brockton, and Lynn; and Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide (NA/HHA) Job Training in Brockton and South Boston.
