Catholic Charities Boston Again Named a Top 100 Women-Led Business in Massachusetts

For the second year in a row, Catholic Charities Boston earned a spot on the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts list. The agency is ranked No. 66 on the 2026 edition of the list, up seven spots from 2025.

“Catholic Charities is honored to be included among this exceptional group of women leaders, whose businesses and organizations not only contribute to the Massachusetts economy and its success, but who are also instrumental in advancing the success of women in the workforce,” said Catholic Charities President & CEO Kelley Tuthill, Ed.D. “It is a testament to our mission to welcome and serve, with compassion and respect, all those in need by providing life’s necessities, education, and advocacy to move families toward self-sufficiency.”

Now in its 26th year, The Women’s Edge creates the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts list and publishes it annually in the Women & Power issue of the Globe Magazine.

The list, which features leaders in health care, higher education, banking, and nonprofit takes into account operating budgets, workforce and management development, innovative projects, and the number of full-time female employees.

Three hundred and thirty of Catholic Charities Boston’s 413 employees, about 80 percent, are female, including more than half of the senior leadership team. On the 2026 list, Catholic Charities is one of just 14 businesses where women make up 80 percent or more of the workforce.

“Women oversee our food pantry operations, coordinate our volunteer program, teach English to our adult learners, support children and teens through our Youth & Family Services program, provide legal resources to our immigrant and refugee neighbors, and are so integral to the critical work Catholic Charities Boston does every day to compassionately serve our neighbors in need,” said Tuthill. “In my role as a leader and mentor, my goal is to help women feel comfortable expressing their ideas, recognize their strengths, and find their own path to success. I want every woman to have the confidence and opportunity to shine.”
