Teen Center Celebrates Thanksgiving with New Kitchen and Holiday Festivities

Catholic Charities Boston’s Teen Center kicked off Thanksgiving week with an exciting ribbon-cutting ceremony, unveiling a newly renovated kitchen. The transformation, complete with modern appliances, new refrigerators, and commercial ovens, was made possible through the generous support of State Representative Chris Worrell.
“We are so grateful for Rep. Worrell’s support of the Teen Center,” said Joao Dos Santos, Director of the Teen Center. “It means so much to the teens to have such great leaders who care about our community here.”
On the evening of November 24, middle schoolers gathered with their parents, friends, and Teen Center staff for an annual Thanksgiving dinner. Staff prepared a traditional Thanksgiving meal with a few Cape Verdean twists, filling the space with a sense of community and celebration. Continuing the festivities, high school students gathered for their own Thanksgiving dinner at the Teen Center with family and staff on November 25.
Rep. Worrell was joined by City Councilor John FitzGerald. Together, the two leaders showed their support not only by serving meals to the kids but by joining in the fun, dancing on stage, playing games in the recreation room, and spending time with families.
“It’s always great to be here at the Teen Center,” said Rep. Worrell. “We are grateful for each and every one of you.”
