Catholic Charities Boston to Participate in 2026 Winter Walk at Boston Common

Catholic Charities Boston will participate in Boston’s 10th annual Winter Walk on February 8, 2026, joining a nationwide effort to raise awareness and support for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
Beginning at the corner of Beacon and Charles Street, Catholic Charities Boston participants will walk two miles around the Boston Common, alongside representatives from 23 local nonprofit organizations, as well as neighbors, volunteers, and those who have experienced homelessness firsthand.
Catholic Charities Boston’s four shelters, serving families, individuals in crisis, and young mothers, are consistently at or near full capacity. In fiscal year 2025, Catholic Charities Boston helped 124 families transition from shelter to permanent housing, in addition to providing ongoing case management and furniture assistance to support them in rebuilding their lives.
“We’re thrilled to join the Winter Walk this year and to stand alongside our community to raise awareness about the urgent need for shelter and support for those experiencing homelessness,” said Jonathan Tetrault, Vice President of Basic Needs. “Events like this remind us of the importance of communities working together to lift each other up. Nobody deserves to be without a home this winter.”
Community members can join by walking, donating, or supporting Catholic Charities Boston’s Winter Walk team. Every step and every dollar raised helps strengthen programs that offer hope, dignity, and a path forward for those most in need.
