Catholic Charities Boston Welcomes New Vice President of Family & Youth Services Shireen Riley

Catholic Charities Boston is pleased to announce the appointment of Shireen Riley to the role of Vice President of Family & Youth Services at Catholic Charities Boston. In this role, Shireen will oversee the operation of Catholic Charities Boston’s core services that aim to empower youth, parents, and families through affordable and compassionate care, including Childcare Services, Counseling Services, Healthy Families and Family Support and Stabilization Services, Sunset Point Camp, and the Teen Center.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Shireen to Catholic Charities and are grateful for the extensive experience in family and youth services she brings to the agency,” said Jamie Ewing, Senior Vice President of Programs. “Her background in program development and leadership will help strengthen our efforts as we continue working to support children, youth, and families across Eastern Massachusetts.”
Shireen comes to Catholic Charities with over 20 years of experience in human services, particularly in childcare, family services, and program development. She most recently held the role of Co-Director of Regional Operations at the Office of Child Care (OCC), Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, where she served as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic leadership and overseeing OCC regional offices nationwide. Shireen has a proven track record of developing and implementing program improvements, building relationships, overseeing the administration of significant funding, and ensuring compliance. Prior to OCC, Shireen held leadership positions for the Head Start Technical Assistance Network and served as a Research Associate for the evaluation of Massachusetts Healthy Families at Tufts University.

Shireen holds bachelor and master’s degrees from Harvard University and a Ph.D from Columbia University.
