Catholic Charities Boston Receives $32,937 Grant from The Greater Boston Food Bank

Catholic Charities Boston recently received a generous $32,937 grant from The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) to strengthen operations and expand the reach of the agency’s four food pantries. Last week, members of Catholic Charities Boston’s Basic Needs department, leadership, and advancement teams gathered with GBFB representatives at the Yawkey Food Pantry for a special check presentation.

The grant will fund the purchase of vital equipment—including pallet trucks, pallet jacks, BulkPak containers, stock picking carts, Rubbermaid carts, and gloves—essential tools that will help streamline food distribution.

With one in three families in Massachusetts facing food insecurity, Christine Keller, Catholic Charities Boston’s Director of Food Pantries, said the GBFB grant comes at a critical time and will significantly boost both the efficiency and reach of Catholic Charities Boston’s pantries.

“As the demand for food continues to rise, we are so grateful for the Greater Boston Food Bank’s generosity and longtime partnership,” said Keller. “We are working together to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.”
