Pope Leo XIV Shares Message to Catholic Charities Conference: ‘Migrants Are Witnesses of Hope’

In a special message to the 115th Annual Catholic Charities USA Meeting in Puerto Rico, Pope Leo XIV described Catholic Charities representatives as “agents of hope,” emphasizing the vital role they play, especially serving the most vulnerable, migrants, and refugees.
“Through providing food, shelter, medical care, legal assistance, and many other gestures of kindness, Catholic Charities affiliates across the United States show what Pope Francis often referred to as God’s ‘style’ of closeness, compassion, and tenderness,” he wrote.
Several Catholic Charities Boston staff members were honored to represent the agency as conference speakers. President & CEO Kelley Tuthill spoke on a leadership panel regarding building government Relations from the ground up. Callie Armstrong, Senior Director of Family Services, spoke on the implementation of a New Electronic Health Record (EHR), while Erin Cahill, Operations Manager for Community Interpreter Services, presented on building a successful enterprise language program.
